Dr. McClanahan is the founder of Diabetes & Thyroid Associates in Spotsylvania VA, which has evolved into one of the largest practices in the Southeast focusing on diabetes, thyroid and other hormonal disorders.
Dr. McClanahan is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a Charter Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.
He is a professor at the James Madison University PA Program and has lectured widely drawing on his 39 years of experience in endocrinology.

Scott Urquhart has been practicing endocrinology since 1996 with Diabetes and Thyroid Associates in Virginia.
He is a founding member and a Past President of the American Society of Endocrine PAs.
PA Urquhart has Clinical teaching affiliations with James Madison University and George Washington University PA programs.
PA Urquhart and Dr. McClanahan received the Paragon Award for Outstanding PA/Physician Partnership for the state of Virginia in 2015.
